Coaching and Consulting Experience
Kerry has 10 years of experience coaching executives at the vice president and senior director levels. As a seasoned executive coach, she is flexible to meet her clients where they are to develop them to achieve their desired performance level and goals. She has coached across a range of organizational contexts from Non-Governmental Organizations to corporations and municipal and federal government. She has also coached in a variety of fields and functions, such as Forestry, Water Resources, Parks, Energy, Engineering, Media, Communications, Finance, IT, Supply, Real Estate Development, Human Resources, Community Development and Public Art.
Additionally, she holds coaching experience across cultures, including the UK, Tanzania, Canada, the United States and Ethiopia. A highlight has been introducing leadership team coaching to the City of Calgary, where she and the team of systems coaches have now worked throughout almost every business unit.
Business and Career Background
Kerry’s extensive training and research in human and social development is combined with over twenty-five years of practical experience in partnering with leaders, organizations and complex social systems on their growth and development journeys. Her change research began when she was a Project Coordinator with the Tanzania Forest Conservation Group—an internationally respected Tanzanian NGO—which resulted in her doctoral work on “Changing Roles in Natural Forest Management” which was published in 2002. Currently, she is leading the impact evaluation of the EthicalCoach Ethiopian NGO Coaching Program, which will be the first impact evaluation for coaching in the NGO sector.
Kerry was a trainer of leaders in participatory approaches to development and is currently a trainer and mentor for new and senior coaches around the world. She is a CRR Global Faculty leader, training both coaches and leaders in systemic coaching skills in North America and Africa. In 2018, she led the training program for the first cohort of Ethiopian EthicalCoaches, eighteen of whom received European Mentoring and Coaching Council accreditation at Foundation level or higher. She continues to mentor and develop these coaches as lead of the team that supports the Ethiopian Local Coach Network.
Education and Certification
Kerry earned her doctorate in Environmental Management from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle, UK. She is an International Coach Federation and European Mentoring and Coaching Council accredited coach and is certified in Organizational and Relationship Coaching from CRR Global and Co-active Coaching from CTI. She is certified to use the following assessments: Leadership Circle Profile 360, Leadership Culture Survey, Lumina Spark, Lumina Emotion and Lumina Leader 360.
