Marian Wright
Coaching and Consulting Experience
Marian has 15 years of experience coaching leaders at all levels, including senior executives, and new and emerging leaders in large organizations. She has worked with a variety of roles, functional areas and industries. She has coached leaders with job titles of CIO, Business Leader, Director, Group Manager and Manager. Functional areas include roles in information technology, human resources, and operations. Industry experience includes technology, financial services, manufacturing, health care, education and retail.
To tailor the right approach for each leader, Marian’s coaching builds upon an understanding of the cultural and strategic context of the leader’s organization; including the people the leader works with most directly—their manager, their team, their peers, and their customers. She combines her background in talent management, organizational development and psychology to help leaders maximize their impact within their organizational context. This approach leads to results for the leader, for their team, and for the organization as a whole.
Business and Career Background
Marian has a consulting practice focused on coaching, leadership development and human resource strategy. Prior to starting her practice, Marian created and led the Talent Management function in the Information Technology organization at Progressive Insurance. In this role, she partnered with senior leaders to build strategies and programs to help the organization select, develop, deploy and retain top talent. She coached leaders at all levels to enhance their performance, prepare for new leadership roles and enhance their ability to coach and develop their teams.
Education and Certification
Marian graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Biology from Ohio University and received her master’s degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. Marian is qualified to use and interpret the Hogan Assessment System, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, EQi (Emotional Intelligence), and the Korn Ferry Leadership Architect.
